Coonoor one of the famous hill stations in Tamil Nadu. Situated at a distance of 17 kilometers from Ooty, it is known for its panoramic surroundings and picturesque sceneries. It is not as commercialized as Ooty and because of that it retains it untouched charm. It is a romantic canvas of lush green grass and uplifting mist. This breath taking hill station is nestled at 2000 feet above the sea level. Traveling to Coonoor is trouble free as you can opt any of the routes- road, rail or air.

Travel to Coonoor Road Travel to Coonoor: – There are two high ways that connect to Coonoor namely SH17 to Mysore and NH 212 to Gundlupet respectively. It is very well connected to adjoining cities and State Buses Run everyday, to and fro from Coimbatore and Ooty. The amount you have to spend if you travel by bus from Ooty is INR 30. Apart from State Transport buses, many private operators are also plying between Ooty and Coimbatore. If one is thinking to come to Coonoor from Bengaluru, they can also opt for private taxis, which would take approximately 9 hours and would charge somewhere around INR 4500.


Travel Coonoor by Air: - The nearest airport to this picturesque hill station is Coimbatore Peelamdeu Airport, which is situated at a distance of 70 Kilometers from Coonoor. The nearest international airport Bengaluru is situated at a distance of 300 Kilometers. Other airport which is close to here is Chennai Airport.

Travel to Coonoor by Train: – If you are thinking to have a comfortable journey in train, then the nearest railway station to Coonoor is Ooty. Broad gauge railway station is situated at Coimbatore which is also connected to other major cities of India. If you want to enjoy the ride of a toy train, you can catch if from Mettupalayam.
